Sculpture - Cedar Series

Free-standing works combine the delicate textures and sinuous shapes of red cedar with painted wood, plastics and polyresin castings. Hyatt admires the grain patterns and colors of a variety of woods, but none more than those of Colorado red cedar. He shapes this richly textured wood into striking configurations to explore new themes and ideas in his most recent mixed-media sculpture. The cedar component stands apart in each work at the same time that it is integral to these original compositions.
